| Why does there appear to be very few people on the register? |
| The register was conceived and launched in September 2008 and began with a 6 month pilot phase. We in no way intended to provide a "quick fix" to the issue of mediator registration. Applications were therefore excepted from April 2009 with a view to publishing the list of registrants in September 2009. The standard we have set is high: significantly higher that any of the other schemes. We therefore acknowledge that not everybody will achieve the standard required to join the register. However, it is our belief that the standard we have chosen is necessary to fully assure the quality, integrity and accountability of the mediator reaching that standard. |
