One big difference with the UK Register of Mediators is that it has been created by mediators for mediators.  The high standard that we have defined has arisen from the professional standards that many of our own mediators and affiliates would aspire to. 

Another difference is that the UK Register of Mediators is a not-for-profit organisation, which gives recognition to mediators from all disciplines i.e. community and neighbourhood, workplace, commercial and family group conferencing.  Some other registers and associations have appeared mainly as a means of generating revenue, or of recognising just one sector of the mediation community.  The UK Regsiter of Mediators is different.
