The basic requirement is that you have completed a recognised training course.  This must be of 40 hours duration, assessedon course through role play externally accredited and relevant to the type of mediation that you will be conducting.The level at which you join the register is then determined by your experience in completing mediation cases. Associate Membership is for individuals who have not yet completed 5 cases Registered Mediator status is for people who have proven their successful completion of at least 5 cases and who have gained accreditation for their work, for example by completion of UK Mediation's Professional Practice in Mediation (PPM).
